Ringo Vinda space station[4] was a ring-shaped[1] civilian graving dock[3] that encircled the planet Ringo Vinda.[1] Controlled by the Galactic Republic, it was captured by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars.[1] This resulted in the Battle of Ringo Vinda,[5] a failed[2] Republic[1] campaign[6] launched in the year 19 BBY[7] in a bid to retake the station from the Separatist.[1] After the war, it was converted into a construction facility by the Galactic Empire to churn out Imperial-class Star Destroyers for the Imperial Navy.[3]
