Ringed moon shadowmoth

The Ringed moon shadowmoth, usually called simply shadowmoth, were a species of insects native to Coruscant. They were silicon-based lifeforms, and had tough cocoons. When they first broke from their cocoons, each young shadowmoth's struggles 'activated' their wings, upon which were whistles which created songs while flying.
They were a common element in the diet of Hawk-bats, who fed upon their larvae.
They may have been semi-sentient; Vergere claimed to have sensed envy from a crippled shadowmoth listening to its companions' songs.
