―Rish Loo[src]

Rish Loo was a male Gungan Minister who presided on Otoh Gunga and served the Gungan Boss Lyonie. He secretly conspired with the Sith Lord Count Dooku, but his dealings with the Sith ultimately cost him his life.

BiographyEdit

Rish Loo was a male Otolla Gungan priest who served as an advisor to Boss Lyonie of the Gungan High Council during the Clone Wars. However, it was revealed that Rish Loo was serving as a spy to the Confederacy of Independent Systems and was able to control Lyonie with a mystic Gungan necklace in order to force the Gungan Grand Army to turn against Naboo. The plan was a failure when Anakin Skywalker, Padmé Amidala, and Jar Jar Binks discovered that Lyonie was under the influence of the necklace. They then confronted Rish, this led to him stabbing Lyonie, buying him time to escape Otoh Gunga for the surface, where the invasion forces awaited and were to meet with Separatist forces. Attempting to take control of the Gungan Grand Army by spreading misinformation regarding Lyonie's apparent death, Loo failed when Binks, disguised as Lyonie, arrived and deemed Rish Loo to be a traitor. Once more escaping aboard a speeder, he eluded the pursuing Skywalker, while simultaneously leading him into a trap. He eventually arrived at his secret lair to meet with Count Dooku, but the Sith Lord immediately killed him for his incompetence, before turning his attentions to Anakin, who'd followed Loo all the way to the lair.

Behind the scenesEdit

In the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, Rish Loo was voiced by Corey Burton, who voiced Count Dooku and a Gungan Soldier in the same episode.

Rish Loo's name has been noted for its similarity to that of Cardinal Richelieu from the classic novel The Three Musketeers.[1]
