Biography
Edit
Discovered to be Force-sensitive at an early age, Rivi-Anu was delivered to the Coruscant Jedi Temple to be trained in the ways of the Force. Studying in the Temple's academy for most of her pre-adolescent life, Rivi-Anu was taken as a Padawan apprentice by a Jedi Master. During her apprenticeship crafted for herself a green-bladed lightsaber as well as learning much about the Force and the path of the Jedi. Before she was knighted, the Separatist Crisis between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems erupted into full-scale war, known as the Clone Wars. Reporting with her master to Coruscant, Rivi-Anu was given the title of Commander within the ranks of the newly formed Grand Army of the Republic.[1]
After two years of fighting, the Jedi High Council was in desperate need for more Knights. Though she had not made it through her full apprenticeship, the High Council chose to give Rivi-Anu the rank of Jedi Knight and promoted her to General within the army. Serving alongside Master Ki-Adi-Mundi and several other Jedi, Rivi-Anu was dispatched to a besieged world as part of the Outer Rim Sieges to combat the Separatist Droid Army. Fighting bravely, Rivi-Anu lost her lightsaber and knelt amongst the dead as a Republic Venator-class Star Destroyer plunged down through the atmosphere after being shot down. Choosing to protect the others, Rivi-Anu did not flee and she used her telekinetic powers to hold the enormous ship aloft, despite being wounded, while her comrades could retreat from the battlefield. Eventually her control over the ship's giant mass was unable to hold any longer and it continued its plunge, ending the young Jedi's life.
Thanks to her sacrifice, Master Ki-Adi-Mundi, her fellow young Jedi, and the Republic forces were able to get clear, unlike their droid opponents, and the battle was won.[1]
Legacy
Edit
Councilor Mundi and the surviving Jedi mourned her loss even as her sacrifice brought victory to the field of battle. Mundi's next mission took him to the world of Mygeeto where he meditated in the rain about Rivi-Anu's sacrifice and how he would look forward to meeting her again as part of the Living Force. This meeting would perhaps come sooner than he expected, as Mygeeto would be his final resting place as one of the first Jedi killed during the Great Jedi Purge.[1]
