A roba pie was a type of savory pie made by members of the Mandalorian culture from the meat of a roba,[1] a porcine species native[2] to the Outer Rim world[3] of Aralia.[2]
On market days in Keldabe—the capital city of the planet Mandalore—a merchant stall set up along the street of Chortav Meshurkaane sold roba pies to passing customers. In the year 19 BBY, the Mandalorian soldier Kal Skirata briefly stopped at the roba pie stall while out for a walk through the city.[1]
Behind the scenes
Roba pies were first introduced to the Star Wars universe in Imperial Commando: 501st, the fifth entry in the Republic Commando novel series written by author Karen Traviss, published October 27, 2009.[1]
