Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike is the third entry in the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron series, released in 2003 exclusively for the Nintendo GameCube, developed by Factor 5 and published by LucasArts. It is currently a Player's Choice title.

It added to the game the ability for the player to depart their starship and join in on a land battle as well as enter into land vehicles such as an Imperial AT-AT and AT-ST during certain missions.

The game is divided into two campaigns, Wedge Antilles's and Luke Skywalker's, plus a Battle of Endor campaign where the player takes control of Luke, Arvel Crynyd, and Chewbacca. It also has a multiplayer function, where the player and one other person can play all of the previous game's missions co-operatively.

REBEL STRIKE
It is a dark time for the
Rebellion. Though the Death
Star has been destroyed,
the Empire remains intent
on crushing the Alliance.

A massive Imperial fleet
has invaded the Rebel base
on Yavin 4 in an attempt to
capture the Rebel leaders,
enacting swift retribution
for the Alliance's earlier
victory.

In the face of this assault,
a small squad of freedom
fighters led by the heroic
LUKE SKYWALKER and
WEDGE ANTILLES attempt
to escape the planet for a

[edit] Multiplayer

There are five different multiplayer game types; they are Dogfight, Rampage, Tag and Defend, Racing, and co-op

  • Dogfight is a simple 1 on 1 battle in the spacecraft of your choice.
  • Rampage involves players getting points via destroying things.
  • Tag and Defend is the most complicated. Players must control certain buildings. You generate 1 point per 15 seconds per building you control. Buildings you control automatically begin building defenses. You can capture enemy buildings by destroying them. Whoever reaches the point limit first wins.
  • Racing is a simple race through Star Wars locales.
  • co-op is a campaign style of play (Most of the co-op levels are single player levels from Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader)

[edit] Behind the scenes

On the Extraction From Ralltiir level, at the end of the AT-ST segment is a large area with a small fire in the middle. Under the fire, but still visible, is the symbol from the menu screen of Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast.

By entering the Buick cheat, selecting the car, and entering cockpit mode, Max (from Sam and Max) can be seen hanging from the roof.

If you do a multiplayer dogfight with the Slave I and the Delta 7 Jedi Starfighter at Geonosis, the Slave I bears its Attack of the Clones color scheme.

There is a dual-continuity error in the secondary weapon of the Jedi Starfighter, which is incorrectly shown as "Sonic charges", when in fact it's Seismic charges, and in the Jedi Starfighter's choice of secondary weapon which should instead be Proton torpedoes. This was most likely for "nostalgic value" as Rogue Squadron III was released around the time of Attack of the Clones. There is a way to "correct" it though, while in Multiplayer, there is the ability to select a secondary out of many different types not initially part of their regular craft included in the Single-Player Missions. (Selecting seismic charges for Slave One, and Proton Torpedoes for the Jedi Starfighter will correct the errors.)

The three arcade games based on the original trilogy are included as bonuses. Star Wars is unlocked after finishing "Death Star Rescue", The Empire Strikes Back after "Triumph of the Rebellion" and Return of the Jedi is only available through a cheat code.

In the gamecube manual, the snowspeeder is shown as an A-wing fighter.

In the mission "Revenge of the Empire", in the beginning cut scene, the insignia on the Imperial landers is of the 8-spoked Republic insignia, and not the Empire's 6 spoked.

After the mission "Defiance on Dantooine", Tycho Celchu tells of an Imperial attack on Raltir, so Luke tells them that he knows a pilot that can get them there fast enough (Possibly talking of Han Solo.), though no pilot is mentioned at all in the following mission.
