Baron Admiral Ronnan Tyla Vedij was a hereditary aristocrat and Imperial Navy officer who had retired to Coruscant.

Vedij, a vocal opponent of the reorganization and politicization of the Navy in the years prior to the Battle of Yavin, was a career officer in the Navy.

As a Bosun, Vedij was seriously wounded fighting alien commerce raiders. He was quickly promoted to Captain, fought and commanded in numerous actions, and was given the rank of Admiral before his retirement to Coruscant. His two sons, Dhas Fenoep Vedij and Elon Vedij followed him into the Navy.

What Admiral Vedij could not have known was that his apparent accidental death, along with that of his wife, in a traffic routing error in flight between Coruscant's skyscrapers, would serve to motivate his son Dhas in his mutiny and seizure of the Far Orbit in 0 ABY.

Behind the scenesEdit

Admiral Vedij was still serving in the Navy when his sons were born, sometime before 20 BBY and probably before 25 BBY. This means he must have been an officer in the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars.
