The Roon Comet was a comet that moved in a way that resembled a ricochet.[1] In the year 20 BBY,[2] the protocol droid I-5YQ compared his travels throughout the galaxy to the motion of the Roon Comet, which by that time had become legendary.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Roon Comet was first mentioned in the 2004 novel MedStar I: Battle Surgeons, which was authored by Michael Reaves and Steve Perry. Although Tail of the Roon Comets, the 1985 episode of Star Wars: Droids: The Adventures of R2-D2 and C-3PO, established the existence of comets in the Roon system, MedStar I: Battle Surgeons did not provide a connection between the Roon Comet and that star system.
