Roshti was a male Togruta who was the governor of the planet Kiros sometime during the Clone Wars.

BiographyEdit

Around 21 BBY, Roshti was governor of Kiros. When a separatist arrival was imminent He was contacted by Jedi Grand Master Yoda, who asked the Togruta colonists to stand against Count Dooku's occupation of the planet while the Galactic Republic sent help. However, Republic troops did not arrive soon enough, and the entire Togruta population was relocated to what Dooku referred to as a "sanctuary." The entire colony and Roshti were in fact sold as a slaves to Zygerria^[3].

On Zygerria, Roshti was separated from his colony and placed into a cell where the Zygerrians kept the slaves that were to be sold at the up coming auction. Obi-Wan Kenobi found Roshti as he searched for the kidnapped Togrutain colony. Kenobi attempted to escape with the governor on a brezak but fell off when a Zygerrian shot him from behind. Roshti was then brought to the slave auction to be sold, though he was never sold because Kenobi was presented at the auction leaving Roshti ignored. The governor along with Kenobi were transported on a slave ship called the Spartan, to a Zygerrian Labor Processing Hub on Kadavo, where the Togruta were being held. Agruss opened the trap doors beneath some of the Togruta, dropping them into a lava pit to show that if Kenobi doesn't cooperate, it will be the Togruta that suffer.^[4]

"We had debated ... having Roshti mention that he knows Ahsoka's parents, or knew her parents ... and that that would somehow play out for why she had an instinct to save the people. In the end, we ended up not going with that because ... we don't have something later that goes on to explore that more, and I thought it'd kinda be almost a mean thing to do."

Roshti's first appearance was in the comic Star Wars: The Clone Wars 1: Slaves of the Republic - Chapter 1: The Mystery of Kiros, which was released in 2008. The comics were later adapted into an arc, which was featured in the fourth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
