Rute Gunnay was a Neimoidian who served as an aide to Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray and Settlement Officer Rune Haako during the final years of the Clone Wars.
He was present on Mustafar when Darth Vader arrived to kill the Separatist Council, and was slain by Vader after Poggle the Lesser.

Behind the scenes
Edit
Rute Gunnay was played by Colin Ware.
Rute Gunnay's name is a play on the name of Nute Gunray, and the origins seem to stem from the fact that the otherwise anonymous Neimoidian aide in tan robes is incorrectly referred to as Nute Gunray in Revenge of the Sith: The Visual Dictionary.[1] This error is partially fixed in Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary, where he is identified as "Rute Gunray". Whether or not this is meant to name Rute as a relative of Nute Gunray is unknown. In Dressing a Galaxy: The Costumes of Star Wars, he is properly referred to as 'Rute Gunnay'. Being that he is the aide for both Rune Haako and Nute Gunray, his name may be a play on of both names (Rune Haako + Nute Gunray).
In the Revenge of the Sith video game, numerous Neimoidians look the same as Rute Gunnay on the Mission to Mustafar level.
Rute Gunnay uses the same mask as Daultay Dofine.
