The Sabaoth starfighter was an independent starfighter used by the Sabaoth Squadron during the years leading up to the Clone Wars.

[edit] Characteristics
The Sabaoth starfighter comprised two down and forward-sloping wings attached to a small cockpit. The design was based on that of an attacking bird of prey. The fighter's two twin laser cannons were located on each wingtip, and on either side of the cockpits bottom, offering a wide fire arc.[1]
They were weakly-shielded and designed to attack in number similar to TIE Fighters meaning that once the shields were down, one hit would destroy the whole starfighter. Sabaoth fighters were carried aboard Sabaoth Destroyers, and often flew into battle alongside heavy Sabaoth Defender fighters.[1]
[edit] History
Count Dooku made a pact with Captain Cavik Toth, whereby Toth's starfighters were used to bolster Separatist defenses.[1]
Nym's pirate forces ran afoul of these deadly starfighters during their battles with Captain Toth's squadron on Nod Kartha and over the Karthakk system prior to the Clone Wars. Jedi Master Adi Gallia and her Padawan, Siri Tachi, also engaged these nimble fighters over Geonosis as they prevented Toth's hex-equipped fleet from attacking the Grand Army of the Republic.[1]
Early in the Clone Wars, Bossk flew a Sabaoth fighter while trying to prove himself as a bounty hunter.
[edit] Behind the Scenes
- A Sabaoth fighter was originally supposed to appear in The Clone Wars episode Dooku Captured, but was cut early in production.
