The Sadow'een were a secret order of assassins of Sith who served the Sith Lord Naga Sadow. During the reign of the Sith Empire, they were responsible for dispatching their master's enemies. At some point, they established a Sith Temple on Hoth where they came to die after they had completed their missions. This great order of assassins were responsible for killing Horak-mul though his spirit managed to survive.

By the time of the Cold war, the temple was in ruins and protected by ancient battle droids. In this time, a Sith Inquisitor encountered the spirit of Horak-mul who offered his power on the condition that the Sith defiled the tomb of the Sadow'een that had murdered him as part of his revenge.
