Safonne Pendon was a male Rodian pirate leader. Pendon commanded a modest, but effective fleet of ships from his corvette flagship Safonne's Sword. He targeted New Republic convoys, forcing the crews to surrender, while taking possession of both the ships and their cargoes.

The pirate fleet was based on the ice world of Seltaya, making use of the natural cave systems as a ready-made base of operations. Pendon was so effective in his piracy that his actions were drawn to the attention of Republic General Cracken, who placed him on his most wanted list.

Pendonn's organization was big enough to rival with the Hy'thor pirate group. Due to this, on 2 ABY, Hy'thor leader Ompiach sent some of his pirates (including the Venithon Twins) to negotiate a treaty with Pendonn. Unfortunately, the meeting became a naval battle.^[1]

During the battle, the crossfire damaged a Rebel freighter with a valuable cargo. The freighter crash-landed in a nearby planet and the Hy'thor pirates followed it to plunder the cargo. It was unclear if Pendonn felt any need to do so.^[1]
