- "This is your fault. We never should've trusted a Sith!"
"If a Jedi has come for you, Salarr, it wasn't my doing." - ―Salarr and Tarnis
Salarr was a Human criminal who lived on the Republic capital of Coruscant during the Cold War with the Sith Empire. A fair-skinned bald male with brown eyes and heavy facial tattooing, Salarr rose to become the leader of the Black Sun criminal syndicate sometime before 3,643 BBY. Around that time, Salarr made a deal with the Sith Lord Tarnis to steal the files for the Planet Prison superweapon, and Salarr hired the Rodian thief Vistis Garn. Not long after, Salarr made another deal with Tarnis—who was masquerading as a Republic scientist—to stage the Sith's kidnapping in exchange for Imperial weapons and armor.
However, after learning that Tarnis had been taken to Black Sun Territory, a Jedi Knight and the astromech droid T7-O1 were sent to rescue the doctor. Working with the Coruscant Security Force's Special Tactical Unit under Sergeant Nidaljo, the Knight stormed the gang's headquarters while Salarr was contacting Tarnis via holocomm, and the Knight was astonished to learn that Tarnis was a Sith. Salarr and his men were killed by the Jedi and the CSF when the criminals attempted to escape, leaving Black Sun leaderless for the time. [1]
Behind the scenes
Edit
Salarr was created for Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game released by BioWare on December 20, 2011. He appears in the Jedi Knight class story mission "Tracking Down the Traitor" on Coruscant, where the player attempts to rescue Tarnis from the gang. While Salarr is killed in the fight with the player and the CSF, he is notable for being the earliest known leader of Black Sun, predating Alexi Garyn by over three millennia.[1]
