The Salliche was a frigate owned by the Galactic Empire during the early years of the organization's reign. Five years after the Empire's creation, the Salliche was stationed at the Imperial facility known as Sentinel Base. When a fake transmission claimed that the nearby Rampart Station was under attack by a rebel cell, the Salliche was one of three ships present at the station, although it and the tug Fremond were both vacant and in stationary orbits. When given the options by a comms officer, the commander of Sentinel Base Governor Wilhuff Tarkin chose the third ship, the Venator-class Star Destroyer Electrum to react to the attack. The fake transmission had in fact been a distraction meant to draw ships away from Sentinel so that a warship could attack it.[1]
