Saylew was a green-eyed Rutian Twi'lek who settled on the planet Tython during the Cold War between the Republic and the Sith Empire. A resident of Kalikori Village, Saylew lost his wife in the an attack by the native Flesh Raiders, and in anger he agreed to give the Jedi Master Orgus Din to the Dark Jedi Bengel Morr. When Saylew and the other villagers tried to kill Din's apprentice as well, the Padawan used the Force to persuade the Pilgrims to leave in peace.
A green-eyed Twi'lek, Saylew had blue skin like all members of the Rutian subspecies. During the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, Saylew was one of the Pilgrims who lived in the illegal settlement of Kalikori Village, Saylew's wife was killed by the native Flesh Raiders during the native Flesh Raiders' uprising around 3,641 BBY. During the attack, the apprentice of Jedi Master Orgus Din was recovering weapons for the villagers, and when the Padawan returned to the village Saylew was engaged in a furious argument with the Matriarch's daughter Ranna Tao'ven, Orgus Din, and Scout Chief Moorint. Saylew wanted to attack and kill the Flesh Raiders, but the Padawan was able to calm the Twi'lek slightly and convince him to leave.
Later, the Dark Jedi Bengel Morr approached the villagers and offered to spare the settlement if they would deliver Orgus Din to him, and Saylew was one of the villagers who accepted his offer. However, Morr later demanded the death of Din's apprentice as well, and Saylew went with Eseni and Moorint to try and kill the young Jedi after they stunned the apprentice. When Tao'ven tried to stop them from harming the Jedi, the apprentice managed to persuade the villagers with the Force to lay down their weaponsleave peacefully.
Behind the scenesEdit
Saylew was created for Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game released by BioWare on December 20, 2011. He appears in the Jedi Knight class story mission "High-Tech Savages", and reappears in the mission "Dark Temptations". When Saylew, Eseni, and Moorint try to kill the Knight, the player can choose to kill the villagers for dark side points, ask them to leave unsuccessfully for no alignment points, or Force Persuade them to leave peacefully.
