[edit] The battle
Despite the efforts of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, the Confederacy of Independent Systems was not ready to give up Cato Neimoidia without a fight.
With his clone wingmen, Jedi Master Plo Koon, in his Delta-7 Aethersprite starfighter, was tasked with the mission to patrol the skies of the Neimoidian purse-world. As battles raged on beneath him on many of the planet's bridge-cities, the Kel Dor Jedi continued to patrol the skies of the Separatist stronghold, on the lookout for enemy fighters.
On the bridges of the planet, Republic UT-ATs, AT-APs, and other walkers alongside numerous clone troopers were fighting against the Separatist droid forces for a way into the cities.
[edit] Order 66
- "Execute Order 66."
"It will be done, my Lord." - ―Darth Sidious and Jag[src]
Flying close now to a bridge, Plo Koon was unaware of what was happening in the ARC-170 starfighter behind him.
Captain Jag answered Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's issue of Order 66 without hesitation. Pulling back a little from the Jedi General, the clone pilot blew the Jedi Master's starfighter out of the sky, killing him.
What remained of the fighter crashed into a building on a bridge-city, the explosion killing some of the Cato Neimoidia Garrison.
[edit] The outcome
Before long, the Republic-turned-Empire had won the planet once the battle droids of the Confederacy were deactivated. The Emperor himself made law that surviving Neimoidian outcasts on the planet would be taken prisoner.
