Thrawn sent three Dreadnaught-class heavy cruisers to acquire them; after cutting off communications in Nomad City, and disabling both the city and its accompanying shieldships, Thrawn received large amounts of credits and four months worth of supplies.
The mobile city was disabled, and was unable to get away from the oncoming and deadly sunrise of Nkllon. However, the Peregrine arrived, commanded by General Garm Bel Iblis; Bel Iblis' forces helped evacuate the citizens of Nomad City. Bel Iblis and Lando Calrissian asked Admiral Hiram Drayson to lend part of his fleet to save the city, but Drayson refused; as a result, although all of its population was safely evacuated, Nomad City itself melted under the fierce star.
