"Secrets of Sienar" is a comic strip published in the thirteenth issue of the Star Wars Rebels Magazine series by Egmont UK Ltd. It was written by Martin Fisher, illustrated by Eva Widermann, and edited by Gunther Nickel. The comic was released on December 30, 2015.

Plot summary[]

In the year 4 BBY on the planet Absanz, Kanan Jarrus and Garazeb Orrelios infiltrate a factory under the control of the Sienar Fleet Systems in an attempt to gain knowledge on the Empire's newest developments of TIE prototypes and bombs. They encounter Dron Ryall, one of Sienar System's lead designers, and attempt to kidnap him for interrogation. Jarrus and Orrelios are attacked by several stormtroopers but manage to fight them off.

While using his comms to speak to Hera Syndulla, Jarrus tries to convince her that Ryall himself is a greater asset than the mere information they had come to steal. He believes that the high-security knowledge Ryall possesses will greatly aid the rebels' cause in saving hundreds of lives. Syndulla, unsure, is concerned that the Empire will go to great lengths to save their designer, and she questions if the risk is worth it. Although she disagrees, Syndulla agrees to remain standing by in the Ghost while Jarrus and Orrelios attempt to escape with Ryall captive.

Jarrus and Orrelios take Ryall aboard a Sentinel-class landing craft, but they are thwarted in their escape attempt by fire from an Imperial cruiser which has cornered them. Ryall begins to fall out of the ship; Orrelios manages to catch him, but he lets him go after Ryall describes the destruction the Empire will cause in their pursuit of him. Back aboard the Ghost, Jarrus admits that Syndulla was right in her instinct not to capture Ryall. She holds an optimistic point of view, explaining that they now know what to expect from the facility should they raid it again.
