The Sector Governance Decree was a proclamation passed by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, via his emergency powers, in the closing days of the Clone Wars.

HistoryEdit

It created the positions of Planetary Governor and Sector Moff, with each appointed official given a regiment of Clone troopers, although the first moffs weren't installed for several more weeks, until after the end of the Clone Wars and the establishment of the Galactic Empire.

The Sector Governance Decree was the final impetus that led several senators to issue the "Petition of 2000". It was possibly considered in response to the scandal following the fall of Duro.
