The Senate Emergency Response was an organization within the Galactic Senate in the Old Republic.

OverviewEdit

This body was formed on Coruscant in the event that a catastrophe so great that it destroyed the galaxy's government structure. It was used only once in galactic history which was after the Battle of Coruscant when Chancellor Palpatine took on the position of Galactic Emperor of the new Galactic Empire.

The Senate Emergency Response was formed to declare martial law on Coruscant after Palpatine claimed that the Jedi Order was responsible for an attempted assassination on his life. The first action authorized by the Emergency Response division was surrounding the Jedi Temple to prevent any spread of the Jedi rebellion.
