The Senate Planetary Intelligence Network, abbreviated as SPIN, was a clandestine intelligence unit created by the New Republic in 4 ABY. Although said to be an analysis and infiltration network, SPIN was more accurately a team of operatives that performed special missions.

Based on the temporary New Republic capital set up at Yavin 4, SPIN used a dispersed network of operatives to locate and neutralize planets with major Imperial resistance against a pro-Alliance populace and collect intelligence on Imperial held planets and operations. Its core membership revolved around a number of Heroes of Yavin. After Trioculus bombarded Yavin 4 in search of the Lost City of the Jedi, SPIN relocated to Mount Yoda on Dagobah.

SPIN continued to operate from Mount Yoda for the remainder of the Trioculus threat, at which time Mon Mothma disbanded the group. Its assets and staff were folded into the New Republic Intelligence Service.
