In 6 BBY, this was the rank held by Brandei as an officer aboard the Star Destroyer Judicator, although it is not clear whether the title was part of the rank hierarchy of line officers in the Imperial Navy, or if it belonged to the alternative systems used by the Imperial Army and other arms of the Starfleet; nor is it known whether the rank retained in use for any significant length of time before or after this point.

Shortly before the Battle of Nar Shaddaa, Kern Fallon of the Imperial Navy held this rank. Another Senior Lieutenant was Star Destroyer officer Leeds.
