Sermeria was an agriworld in the Expansion Region. It was already a quiet Republic agriworld by 1,019 BBY, when Johun Othone was born in its capital Addolis. It was represented in the Galactic Senate by Lanus Wrede and later Ister Paddie. 22 BBY, shortly before the Clone Wars, its capital, Addolis, was infested by stone mites, which were fought by the Sermerian Bio-League. Despite this, the planet remained loyal to the Galactic Republic.
