- "However powerful, Vader is one, and we are many. No more debate. No more 'reflection.' No need of planning. Our prey comes to us. When he is dead, the Emperor will be crippled and know fear. And the galaxy will know the Jedi live."
- ―Shadday Potkin[src]
Shadday Potkin was a female Human Jedi Master and Senior General during the Clone Wars and a survivor of Order 66.

[edit] Biography
Shortly after the execution of Order 66 and the establishment of the Galactic Empire, Shadday returned to Coruscant, where she mournfully watched the Jedi Temple burn from among the crowd that stood outside its base. Even then, however, she retained several informative contacts.
During the next month, she joined forces with several other Jedi survivors, including Bultar Swan. She called for a secret meeting of surviving Jedi on the planet Kessel, ostensibly to discuss the future of the Jedi Order.
Secretly, however, she had another plan. She had grown disillusioned with what she saw as Jedi inaction, preferring to act rather than meditate and reflect. Through her contacts she leaked information to the Empire on the Jedi meeting, including the lie that Obi-Wan Kenobi was among them. Knowing that Darth Vader was obsessed with tracking Kenobi down, although not knowing the reason, she planned to ambush him with the full force of the Jedi, removing Emperor Palpatine's greatest weapon and striking fear into the Empire.
Eight Jedi in all were present in the abandoned mine when Vader arrived. Shadday believed herself prepared to fight the Sith, having acquired a cortosis sword to deactivate Vader's lightsaber. At first, her attack seemed successful. However, robbed of his lightsaber, Vader instead snapped her neck, killing her instantly. He proceeded to procure her cortosis weapon and used it against her allies.
[edit] Behind the scenes
Shadday described Darth Vader as "Palpatine's mailed fist, Dooku's successor, Maul's inheritor". However, neither Shadday nor any Jedi should know Darth Maul's name and identity. It is possible that Nute Gunray or the Trade Federation may have leaked the name of the Sith to the Republic or information on Maul's name could have been revealed to the Jedi through Gunray's mechno-chair, but this is unconfirmed. This is not the first time this mistake has been made; in Rogue Planet, Obi-Wan Kenobi mentions Maul by name.
The name "Shadday" is likely derived from the Hebrew word shaddai, which is the name of an ancient Amorite city, as well as one of the Jewish names of God. (Its exact meaning as a name of God is disputed by scholars.) Both first and surname are a tribute to the designers of Dressing a Galaxy, Usana Shadday and Noah Potkin, respectively.
