Galactic Empire[1] |
The Shadow AT-AT was an All Terrain Armored Transport walker variant utilized by the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. Covered with gleaming black armor, the Shadow AT-AT was created solely for the purpose of intimidating enemy forces, rather than performing stealth operations. Rebel Alliance soldiers found the Shadow AT-AT to be one of the most frightening specters on the battlefield.

Characteristics
Edit
The Shadow AT-AT was a variant design of the Galactic Empire's All Terrain Armored Transport assault walker covered with gleaming black armor.[2] Manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards, the Shadow AT-AT stood at an imposing height of 15.5 meters. Armed with blasters and laser cannons, the Shadow AT-AT was capable of transporting forty Imperial stormtroopers.[1]
Role
Edit
The Imperial Shadow AT-AT was never intended to conduct stealth operations.[2] Instead, its sole purpose was intimidation—which the walker's black armor effectively helped to reinforce. The Empire typically deployed the Shadow AT-AT during night operations or on the dark surfaces of sunless planets as a way of instilling terror into the minds of enemies. The Shadow AT-AT functioned as a troop transport and assault walker.[1]
History
Edit
During the Galactic Civil War, the Imperial Military utilized the Shadow AT-AT as a terror weapon. The sudden appearance of a massive Shadow AT-AT emerging out of the night with weapons blazing was among the most frightening things Rebel Alliance troops faced.[1]
Behind the scenes
Edit
The Shadow AT-AT was first included among Hasbro's 2007 set of the Star Wars: Titanium Series line of die-cast Star Wars figurine vehicles.[1] In 2008, the Shadow AT-AT was provided an entry in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia.[2]
