The Shadow Egg was created by Lord Shadowspawn. He named it the shadow egg the instant of its creation. It hovered where the Shadow Throne once stood and was held up by the repulsorlifts that once supported the shadow throne. It was absolutely dark on the inside and Shadowspawn considered it his cocoon. It collapsed after Luke Skywalker befriended the Melters.
