Shahan Alama was a Weequay bounty hunter who was active during the Clone Wars. He, along with Cad Bane and a group of other bounty hunters and mercenaries, participated in the Senate hostage crisis in order to free the Crime lord Ziro the Hutt and deliver him to the Grand Hutt Council.

BiographyEdit

At some point during the Clone Wars, Shahan Alama was hired by fellow bounty hunter Cad Bane to break nefarious crime lord Ziro the Hutt out of Republic custody. He worked alongside other bounty hunters such as Aurra Sing, Robonino, HELIOS-3D, HELIOS-3E and two commando droids. Alama and the group landed on one of the Senate Building's many landing platforms in order to access the building, however a group of Senate Commando's demanded that they leave, due to their unauthorised arrival. Alama and the group engaged the commandos in a brief confrontation, with Aurra Sing managing to kill three of them with her sniper rifle from afar and the rest being overwhelmed by the bounty hunters. The hunters then headed into the Senate building, encountering some more senate commandos along the way. They promptly dealt with them before reaching the control panel room, where Robonino shut down the power to the building. Upon reaching the room where Republic senators were gathered, the group held them hostage and Cad Bane contacted Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, demanding Ziro the Hutt's release. Palpatine refused and Bane responded by locking down the building and preventing all communication from outside. He hung up and proceeded to search the senators in order to retrieve their comlinks and other valuables, but before he could search senator Padmé Amidala, he noticed the Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker hiding in the upper levels. He fired at the Jedi before ordering Alama and HELIOS-3E to find him. Alama and the droid pursued Skywalker but before they could catch him, the Jedi managed to contact Palpatine by hot-wiring a terminal. Alama heard the two conversing and he and the droid investigated but Skywalker managed to hide once more. The Jedi then performed a Mind trick on Alama, which convinced him to check the other two floors. Alama then decided it would be best if he and 3E split up: 3E was to check one floor whilst he checked another. Alama then suspected Skywalker to be in one of the rooms, but instead found a BD-3000 luxury droid inside. Alama laughed before continuing with the search. He then heard commotion on the other floor that 3E was checking and he went to investigate, finding the droid's mangled remains. He also noticed that the droid had no lightsaber cuts and deduced that the Jedi must not have his weapon. Alama reported his findings back to Bane who then sent Sing to help with the search. Alama and Sing eventually found Skywalker attempting to enter the control panel room. The Jedi was then electrocuted by Robonino and the hunters brought him back to Bane, who tossed him in with the senators. Soon after, the Chancellor agreed to have Ziro released and the hunters exited the building with their mission complete.[1]

Personality and traitsEdit

Shahan Alama was a male Weequay who stood at 1.85 meters tall.[2] When his companion HELIOS-3E was destroyed by Skywalker, Alama noticed that there were no lightsaber cuts, intelligently deducing that the Jedi was without his lightaber.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

Shahan Alama first appeared in "Hostage Crisis," the final episode of the first season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, in which he was voiced by Corey Burton, who also provided the voices of Count Dooku and Cad Bane, among others. Though not named within the episode itself, Alama's name was given during the episode's credits.
