Shenir Rix was a female Mon Calamari informant who worked for the Galactic Empire in the years after the battle of Yavin. She had previously worked for a pharmaceutical company, but changed to a career in crime for the profit.

Shenir Rix was given a first name after the Shenir, a spice trendy in the native Mon Calamari planet Dac. "Shenir" was a fairly common name for Mon Calamari females.[3]
During her professional beginnings, Rix had been an important partner of Fergriss Pharmaceuticals. The company closed after an Imperial attack to Fergriss's homeworld. Rix then redirected her career to illegal spread of secret information, using her skills for bussiness and importance appraisal.[2]
Rix's M.O. included her presence in trendy gambling locals, where she could easily find rich and important people suddenly low on credit. Using her personal charm and sense of oportunity, Rix then would buy (or sell) information to these people.[2]
While many Mon Calamari sympathized with the Rebel Alliance, Rix chose to work as a spy for the Galactic Empire, to whom she sold solid, reliable and accurate information always less than 24 hours old.[1] After the battle of Endor, Rix lowered the figure to 20 hours.[2]
As of 6 ABY, she had used her reputation of honesty to avoid the competition and wrath of other, more violent criminals.[2]

Rix was a lank Mon Calamari with flecked olive-green skin. She was known to favor expensive clothing and jewelry, which was the main cause for her to become an informer.[2]
Rix valued her own hard work and only sold precise and recent information. She also developed certain respectability among her criminal peers so that they would not try to attack her.[2]
