The Shield of Yavin was an award given to Rebel Alliance starfighter pilots. It was canonized after the Battle of Yavin.

Keyan Farlander received the award for his role in helping the Alliance fleet evade Imperial pursuit, acquire much needed food supplies, capture experimental technology, and eventually cause tremendous damage at an Imperial Deepdock by using the Corvette Ram's Head to destroy the bridge towers of several Star Destroyers.
