"Preparing your next speech?"
―Shok Tinoktin to Nom Anor[src]

Shok Tinoktin was a Human native of Rhommamool. In 25 ABY, he became allied with Nom Anor, a fanatical despiser of machines and his followers, the Red Knights of Life.

Biography

During the Rhommamool-Osarian conflict in 25 ABY, shortly before the onset of the Yuuzhan Vong War, Tinoktin was drafted as one of Nom Anor's advisors on Rhommamool, and became one of his closest associates, along with other radicals such as Tamaktis Breetha.[1]

Following a missile attack on Osarian instigated by Nom Anor, Tinoktin accompanied his leader from Rhommamool in a disguised A-wing and assisted Nom Anor in faking his death aboard the intervening New Republic cruiser Mediator.[1]

In 26 ABY, during a confrontation with Mara Jade Skywalker on Duro, Nom Anor revealed that Shok Tinoktin had been well rewarded for his faithful service to both Anor and the Red Knights of Life.[2]

Personality and traits

Shok Tinoktin was largely unintelligent and ignorant, and was utterly unaware of Nom Anor's true allegiances to the Yuuzhan Vong, simply believing him to be a pro-organic radical.[1] He was lanky and reedy, and likened by Mara Jade Skywalker to a mouse.[2]

Behind the scenes

Shok Tinoktin was first introduced in R. A. Salvatore's The New Jedi Order: Vector Prime, the first novel in the New Jedi Order series as a supporting character and antagonist. He also received a brief mention in a later novel, The New Jedi Order: Balance Point by Kathy Tyers, but has not been featured in any media since.
