Shoran was a Wookiee, a friend of Attichitcuk and Chewbacca's cousin. As leaders among Wookiees, they moved to Alaris Prime and started its colonization.

Shoran was a valuable ally to Attichitcuk when they led their forces against the previous occupation of the Trade Federation and their Trandoshan allies, and helped to destroy a sensor array.
During the Liberation of Kashyyyk he met Han Solo and Chewbacca in Chenachochan after they escaped from a trap set by Weebacca. He helped them to destroy three Imperial transmission jammers.
Shoran died during the rescue of Han Solo from the Pride of Yevetha during the Black Fleet Crisis and was one the examples given why Solo didn't want Chewbacca's life debt to continue through Jowdrrl and Dryanta in 25 ABY.
