Shylar was a female Human Jedi Master who served the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic as a Shadow agent of Master Tholme.

BiographyEdit

Service to the OrderEdit

A Force-sensitive Human, Shylar was trained in the ways of the Force by the Jedi Order. Raised in the Coruscant Jedi Temple, Shylar was a contemporary Quinlan Vos, with whom she had a relationship with, throughout their time as Padawans. Ending the relationship per the Order's ban on attachment, Shylar went on to become a Jedi Master, working as a Shadow under the guidance of Vos' former master, Master Tholme.^[2]

When the Clone Wars erupted between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Master Shylar volunteered to infiltrate the command structure of the Confederacy and uncover the war plans of their leader, Count Dooku. While Master Shylar was deep undercover, Master Sora Bulq defected from the Jedi Order; afterwards, reports from Shylar stopped coming. While the Jedi High Council feared that she had defected as well, in fact, Master Shylar had been captured by Dooku, who had seen through her deception and imprisoned her. Finding herself under constant interrogation at the hands of Dark Acolyte Kadrian Sey, Shylar refused to reveal anything to Dooku, and her torture continued.^[1]

The anguished form of Master Shylar remained suspended in Dooku's lair when Quinlan Vos, on a similar mission as Shylar had been on, entered at the Count's side. Shylar was furious and dismayed upon seeing Vos, cursing his name as she believed him a traitor to the Order. Unable to reveal his true mission to Shylar, Vos was helpless in the situation, and felt great grief when Shylar died during her next torture session.^[1]

LegacyEdit

Master Vos, eventually withdrawing from the Confederacy, reported back to the Council of Reconciliation after coming out of cover. Detailing his interaction with Shylar in Dooku's retreat, he cleared her name of any suspicion of being a traitor. Vos revealed the history to the Council, and confided in the Masters that he would fight the rest of the war hoping to one day atone for the death of his old friend.^[2]
