Shylar was a Jedi Master. As a Padawan, she had a relationship with Quinlan Vos, but they ended it, knowing it went against the Jedi Code. During the Clone Wars, she was captured and tortured to death by Count Dooku. Vos, working as a double agent, was unable to help her.
