Silara Panteer^[1] was a Human female who served as the queen of Alderaan and head of House Panteer during the Great Galactic War. During her reign, Alderaan was invaded by the Sith Empire. Her planet later hosted the peace talks between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire which resulted in the Treaty of Coruscant, a treaty that inadvertently lead to civil war after her death.

Crown Prince Gaul Panteer, senator and heir to the throne of Alderaan, chose to secede from the Galactic Republic after the controversial Treaty of Coruscant was signed. Many civilians of Alderaan opposed the decision, and many others supported it. Security forces managed to keep the peace until the prince was assassinated. The queen died in a shuttle crash in the Glarus Valley days later with no heir, leaving Alderaan's throne open for many noble houses to claim it for themselves. Bouris Ulgo claimed the throne for himself, while Houses Thul and Organa challenged him, resulting in civil war.
