The Silent Blades were an Outer Rim pirate organization around 0 BBY. They were hunted down by the Imperial Navy's EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate Far Orbit, under the command of Captain Vocis Kenit after a campaign of several weeks.

Before their confrontation with the Galactic Empire, the Silent Blades had destroyed a number of system patrol craft and starfighters belonging to Rim systems, and requested Imperial intervention.

Kenit made a key tactical error and ordered the TIE/In complement of the Far Orbit to pursue the pirates into their asteroid lair. Though the pirates were defeated, all of the TIEs were destroyed. Elon Vedij was a casualty of the battle.

A few members of the Silent Blades escaped the battle, renaming themselves the Tarnished Blades.
