Silver Fyre was a female Human who led the Aquaris Freeholders, said by some to be the largest gang of pirates, mercenaries and smugglers in the galaxy. She supported the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War.

BiographyEdit

Queen of the space piratesEdit

Silver Fyre was a controversial figure, even among other members of the criminal underworld. It was rumored that she would sometimes turn her competitors in to the Galactic Empire, and she was not above stealing from them, either. One of her most notable thefts was a cargo of spice she hijacked from Han Solo and Chewbacca during their smuggling days.

When Commander Fyre set about establishing a base of operations for her band of pirates, she chose the water world of Aquaris over such locations as Myrkr and the Vergesso Asteroids. She spent thousands of credits to build an extensive hideout beneath the planet's endless oceans, accessible only by an extendable landing platform.

Joining the RebellionEdit

For years the Freeholders maintained their independence, but over time Silver grew tired of evading Imperial escort frigates and customs vessels. Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, she attended the Conference of Uncommitted Worlds on Kabal, where Princess Leia Organa was recruiting new members for the Alliance. After talking with Leia, Silver pledged the Freeholders' support.

Following the conference, Leia was unable to return to the Rebel base on Yavin 4 and sought shelter on Aquaris with her companions—including Han Solo. Based on his previous dealings with Silver, Han doubted her trustworthiness, but it was Kraaken, her deputy commander, who was secretly plotting against them.

During Leia's visit, Kraaken attempted to steal critical data being carried by R2-D2 by preoccupying Silver, Han, Chewbacca and Luke Skywalker with a sabotaged hunting expedition. When a demonsquid attacked the hunting party's aqua-skimmers, Silver was finally able to prove herself to Han by shooting the creature's brain sac and helping her new allies escape.

After Leia revealed Kraaken's deceitfulness, a grateful Silver recommitted her resources to the Rebellion. Her formidable space fleet subsequently aided Leia and the others in running the Imperial blockade of Yavin 4.
