- "No need [fzzt] to be in such a rush, trader. We of the [fzzt] Techno Union wish to express our [fzzt] gratitude for your assistance by [fzzt] upgrading you. Rejoice - soon you'll be as [fzzt] efficient - and allergy free as - [fzzt] we [fzzt] are."
- ―Techno Union Representative to a disguised Anakin Skywalker.
The atmosphere on Skako was extremely dense, so Skakoans evolved to survive under great pressures. This meant that Skakoans would decompress and die in low pressure environments. Thus, the few Skakoans that left Skako wore special protective suits. Very few non-Skakoans ever saw a Skakoan without the suit on, though they were believed to look somewhat like Humans, though with beady eyes, nasal slits, no lips, and sickly colored skin. An average Skakoan could live to be 90-110 years old.
History
Edit
The Skakoans were relatively unknown in the galaxy, except for their control over the Techno Union. They spoke Skakoverbal and had a developed religion. They were also known to be proficient with micro-electronics that were considered quite advanced.
Wat Tambor, Foreman of the Techno Union, was a Skakoan. During the Clone Wars, Tambor pledged the support of the Techno Union to the Confederacy of Independent Systems. They supported the war effort by supplying droids, starships, and weapons. Skakoan control of the Techno Union came to an end with the death of Tambor on Mustafar.
After the Clone Wars, their role in the CIS resulted in them being persecuted by the Humanocentric Galactic Empire. Most retreated to their homeworld, which remained in isolation even after the Battle of Endor. This had led many to believe that the Skakoan species had become xenophobic after their experience at the hands of the Empire.
