"Sleight boxes are hardly state of the art for smugglers these days. It's almost as if they wanted to be caught."
Hal Horn, to Corran Horn[2]

A sleight box was a seemingly ordinary-looking cargo container that could be a variety of sizes[1] and could be made of duraplast.[2] The boxes had a built-in, low-powered repulsorlift coil matrix and power supply in the bottom casing. A compensating c-board helped the repulsorfield to neutralize the weight of anything inside the box, giving the impression that it was empty.[1]

The deception could hide anything from thermal detonators and blasters to simply air from customs officials, but by the Galactic Civil War most customs droids knew what to look for in countering the smuggler design.[2] Ecls Industries produced a sleight box during the Galactic Civil War designed as the R-Coil Crate.[1]
