A slug was the common term for the ammunition of projectile weapons. They varied in size from small calibers used in submachineguns or pistols to giant cannon rounds used by planetary defenses. Slugs could be custom made and designed by their owners, allowing for an incredible array of specialized ammunition, such as; incendiary, explosive, armor piercing, and rubber "mercy" rounds. Even more exotic slugs such as cortosis slugs were custom made by bounty hunters such as Cad Bane for use against Jedi like Bolla Ropal, which successfully shorted out his lightsaber.
