Snare rifles were non-lethal hunting weapons used to capture dangerous creatures alive. Many big game hunters preferred this weapon. The most well-known user was the Gand bounty hunter Zuckuss, who wielded a Merr-Sonn Munitions GRS-1.

A snare rifle operated by firing a burst of shockstun mist incapacitating its target, followed up by a liquid spraynet that covered the target, quickly solidifying to hold the target fast.

A lower-tech version would fire a small cartridge that was loaded with a weighted cord that would wrap around a target and ensnare them. Each cartridge weighed 2 kilograms and cost 50 credits.^[1]
