Snoova was one of the few known Wookiee bounty hunters, and was known to have had connections to the criminal organization Black Sun. He was exiled from Kashyyyk for using claws in combat and was labeled a Madclaw. He lost an eye in pursuit of a bounty and had replaced it with an eyepatch connected to cybernetics hidden in the eye socket.[1]

[edit] Biography

Snoova with his vibro-ax

Snoova was a part of the Aurodium Sword mercenary group, and friends with Alpha-66. He even carried a death mark from other Wookiees for violating Wookiee honor precepts by using his claws in his chosen profession; though they make formidable weapons, Wookiees were forbidden from using them for anything besides peaceful purposes.

When Princess Leia Organa sought the aid of Black Sun when planning to rescue Han Solo, she and Chewbacca were provided disguises as bounty hunters to land on Coruscant and meet with Prince Xizor. Leia's disguise belonged to the Ubese hunter Boushh, and Chewbacca's was based on that of Snoova. To appear like Snoova, Chewbacca shaved the top of his head as a square, and dyed black stripes on his body. Chewbacca also carried Snoova's preferred weapons: a vibro-ax and large blaster rifle.

[edit] Behind the scenes

An action figure of Chewbacca disguised as Snoova was made in 1996 as part of the Shadows of the Empire assortment of the Power of the Force 2 line. It was an extensively retooled version of the first Power of the Force 2 Chewbacca figure, including the shaved head, dyed fur, and armor. The figure also included a blaster rifle, vibro-ax, and detachable cape.
