Solo Adaptation 1 is the first issue of the comic book miniseries Solo: A Star Wars Story Adaptation, which adapts the film of the same name. Written by Robbie Thompson and illustrated by Will Sliney, the issue was released by Marvel Comics on October 10, 2018.
FEATURING BACKSTORY AND SCENES NOT SEEN IN THEATERS! After leaving the IMPERIAL NAVY, a young HAN SOLO seeks adventure by joining a gang of galactic mercenaries — including a 196-year-old [sic] Wookiee named CHEWBACCA and a notorious gambler named LANDO CALRISSIAN. But there's more to the story of the galaxy's most beloved scoundrel than what you saw in theaters. Why does BECKETT trust him? And what is the connection between the woman who stole Han's heart and one of Han's closest friends?
The comic alters certain scenes first depicted in Solo: A Star Wars Story: Expanded Edition. During Han's tribunal at Carida, the Commodore gives a recap of Han's actions during his entire stay at the academy before proceeding onto the dialogue seen in the novelization, with some small speech and word alterations such as the way he chastises Han for his actions. The outcome of Han's actions during his engagement with the raiders during his training exercise is also altered, with Han taking out three raiders instead of damaging just one in the novelization. Han's landing into the hangar which originally only affected three tie fighters in the novelization is changed so that Han ends up destroying the hangar and several astromechs.
