Somov Rit was a sparsely populated green world with a native human population. During the New Sith Wars, Jedi scout Torr Snapit came to the planet seeking Force-sensitive recruits, but his only luck was with three young children including Tomcat and Bug. The third of these, Rain later helped rebuild the Sith Order as Darth Bane's apprentice, Darth Zannah.
The natives of the planet went by nicknames due to fear of the legend of the Swamp Demon. It was not uncommon for someone to live their whole life without their friends and family being aware of their real name. Maslak plants grew on Somov Rit, and the populace were largely seafaring, subsidizing off of roots and fish.
[edit] Behind the scenes
The planet's name is taken from the Croatian language, as Darko Macan himself is a Croat, meaning "Swamp of a catfish". And the name of its inhabitant Darovit (also known by the nickname Tomcat) means Gifted on the same language.
