A sonic pacifier was a modular device capable of emitting vibrational waves of force that could affect the inner ear of any organism caught within its radius. The weapons merchant, Orion Ferret, owned such a device and used it to control a creature known as a Watchbeast on the planet, Patch-4. In 3 ABY, Luke Skywalker used Ferret's sonic pacifier to render the Watchbeast known as Ceasar unconscious.
