Sonic shower

A sonic shower, also known as a sonic, was a piece of technology that was used for personal hygiene.
The sonic shower was faster and more efficient than water-based showers. It used ultrasonic vibrations to cause dirt and grime to simply vibrate/evaporate off a persons body, leaving it fresh and clean. Sonic showers were often found in refreshers. At Republic Mobile Surgical Units, staff members such as Jos Vondar and Barriss Offee had their own private sonic showers—and possibly refreshers—in their personal quarters. [1]
Daala stated that the hot showers on the Executive Level of the first Death Star were much nicer than the sonics elsewhere.[2]
