Soothfast was a retrofitted Proficient-class light cruiser of the New Republic Defense Fleet that served during the Yuuzhan Vong War under the command of Captain Skent Graff.

Six months into 25 ABY, Soothfast was patrolling the space near Durren in the Meridian Sector when a pair of biotic warships entered the system. Soothfast and its complement of starfighters engaged the yorik coral spawn ship that moved towards them. After minor loses to Gauntlet Squadron, Soothfast was able to destroy the Yuuzhan Vong warship and scare off its counterpart, although the victory was merely a ploy to deliver Elan and Vergere into New Republic hands.
