Spacing was a form of execution where the condemned was placed in an airlock without a space suit and sent into the vacuum of space.

If a being is spaced while a ship is in hyperspace, the body will disintegrate (its atoms will "cease to have any coherent meaning") once outside the ship's protective shield.
