Sprint-class rescue crafts were a class of nimble starship that saw use by the Galactic Republic's Space Rescue Corps around the time of the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Among the rescue corps' most commonly deployed starship models, the Sprint-class was utilized to locate missing starships and space battle survivors, and respond to distress calls, while larger assignments were handled by the disc-hulled Corellian rescue frigate.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Sprint-class rescue crafts were first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Sprint-class rescue craft was introduced in The Truce at Bakura Sourcebook, a 1996 supplement to West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[2] The starship later made its full first appearance in the fifth issue of the Star Wars: Obsession comic-book series, which was authored by W. Haden Blackman, illustrated by Brian Ching, and published by Dark Horse Comics[3] on May 18, 2005.[4]
