Squid Lake

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

Squid Lake

Squid Lake was an opera performed by the Mon Calamari Ballet during the Clone Wars. One of its performances took place at the Galaxies Opera House shortly after the Battle of Coruscant. It was during this performance that Palpatine told Anakin Skywalker of "the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise", which he claimed was a Sith legend.

[edit] Behind the scenes

During Revenge of the Sith, Squid Lake is accompanied by a solo male voice, most likely a contrabassist singing a very low pitch. It has yet to be explicitly revealed whether this composition was intended to be noumenal (heard only by the viewer) or phenomenal (actually heard by the characters in the scene).

The title is a parallel to the real world ballet title Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky.
