Squint (TIE Interceptor)

Squint was a nickname used among Rebel Alliance/New Republic pilots for the Imperial TIE Interceptor starfighter, likely due to the fact the TIE Fighters were already called "eyeballs" due to the shape of their spherical cockpit and central dome, and the wings of the Interceptor fighter combined with the cockpit and dome shape it shared with the other TIE fighters suggested a squinting eye. Or "squint" could have possibly referred to the lighting speed of these fighters, so much so that you had to "squint" to see it.
